Project Pumpkin - Under Construction

September 24, 2008
3:30 pmto4:30 pm

Project Jericho youth worked on refurbishing the “play pumpkin” at Cliff Park. Weekly since August 15, youth worked hard- cleaning, sanding, repairing, priming and then painting this community milestone.   The project, led by artist, Keith Skogstrom was unveiled to the community at a public celebration on  Wednesday, September 24 at 3:30 PM.  About 50 people attended, and applauded the youth for their hard work.

The project drew the interest of many park visitors, who wanted to share their own stories about the pumpkin - “This is where my husband proposed to me. This is where I got my first kiss. This is where I used to come when I felt sad.”  It’s a special place of memories for many people in our community, and Project Jericho is proud to be a part of its restoration!
